Abstract

Shoes are prescribed to diabetic patients in the medical field, but it is difficult to judge whether the shoes fit their feet or not. The aim of this study is to develop a system that can estimate shear forces from vibrations and evaluate shoe fit in real time. Vibrations occurring between the foot and shoe during walking were reproduced. The vibrations occurring between the foot and shoe during walking were reproduced and measured using a Piezoelectric Wire Sensor. Shear forces were estimated from the measured vibrations using machine learning. In this study, a method of embedding the piezo-wire sensor in the fabric was also investigated.
