The increased track work due to the cause of wheel flat is calculated using the analyzed results on the wheel drop test, on the deterioration of track and on the convergence of track irregularity. The first gives the equivalent rail roughness to the impact of wheel flat. The second selects an adequate track deterioration law. The third calculates the increase of track maintenance work.
