Abstract
Heavy Haul usually leads to many new problems, such as wheel wear, larger wheel/rail force and structure fatigue. Huge force caused by freight brings large elastic deformation and severe vibration of carbody. A kind of harmful high frequency vibration called chatter appears in heavy haul carbody, which is potential threat for operation safety and freight security. In order to analyze the mechanism of car body chatter, the carbody is considered as elastic body and rigid-flexible coupling system dynamics model of a certain type of gondola car which includes nonlinear friction force is established. The vibration of body in different velocity and loads case are researched and coupling parameter between freight and car is investigated.
