Abstract
This paper deals with a positioning system based on the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and systems of local elements, which there is possible to be used for safety related applications in railway. In this paper namely several designs of the architecture will be described. Firstly - with three independent positioning channels - GPS/EGNOS, local pseudolites and inertial sensors system with only two independent channels - GPS/EGNOS/pseudolites together and inertial sensors and also design of the architecture with local GNSS reference station.
