Abstract
In this study, the experimental apparatus is set up using a horizontally placed 2mm diameter tube to measure the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop of carbon dioxide near critical pressure (reduced pressures are adjusted from 0.81 to 0.91). The mass fluxes are controlled from 200 to 500kg/m^2s. In higher-pressure region, the dryout starts at lower quality on top of the tube, and then the boiling heat transfer coefficient decreases gradually. In addition, its flow pattern is observed at 5.0MPa too. A typical flow patterns are confirmed with carbon dioxide flow even in 2mm diameter tube.
