For saving energy and resources, development of a coolant with high heat capacity is required. As a new coolant for regulating a temperature at around the room temperature, we select clathrate hydrate which is a mixture of Tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF) and water. This clathrate hydrate is composed of the micro crystals of 100μm order, which retains fluidity and melting point at the room temperature of about 25℃. Moreover the melting point can be controlled between 25℃ and 0℃ by changing the concentration of TBAF. The temperature can be maintained by the latent heat at the melting point. Characteristics such as the crystal structure of the clathrate have been experimentally obtained.
