We investigated the performance of turbulence-structure simulations near a heated surface with a computational fluid dynamics code, OpenFOAM. The special attention was paid to the dependence of numerical parameters, grid resolutions and schemes for convection terms. Comparison between predictions and experimental results clearly showed that the OpenFOAM has a capability to appropriately simulate the turbulence structure, even for the near-surface region, but predicted structural characteristics strongly depended on the numerical parameters, implying that appropriate choice of numerical parameters is indispensable for turbulence-structure simulations.
