Using cross-linked polyacrylic acid sodium hydro gel, we have investigated the segregation of swelling particles due to freezing under the conditions of the constant loading pressure. With increasing in the loading pressure, the segregation coefficient initially decreases and increases after having the minimum value which strongly depends on the initial solid fraction in gel and freezing rate. It was found that to obtain pure ice lens not containing particles, swelling gel having a higher solid fraction needs a larger loading pressure and a slower freezing rate.
