The experiments of residual strain testing with an EMAT and ECT dual probe showed that the birefringence coefficient of shear waves can generally evaluate the residual strain. In addition, since the residual strain can be tested with ECT method as a supplemental result, the dual probe is meaningful in residual strain evaluation.
