Abstract
This paper describes a statistical model for car safety assessment using accident database. We made the statistical model on NASS/CDS using logistic regression modeling technique and examined a relationship among probability of driver's injury severity and accident factors involving driver sex, age, restraint use, speed limit, impact point, vehicle damage and vehicle mass. We also estimated relative injury severity of each cars by means of the probability of driver's injury severity. The results show that the statistical model has a good possibility for car safety assessment.
