Abstract
Motored wheelchair is a useful mobility tool for severely disabled persons. But, its maximum speed is limited to 6km/h, and therefore such persons' life style and activity area is limited to close area of their residents. If they use an automobile in which they can get on while on their wheelchair and they can drive by joystick, their QOL must be raised. In this paper, the authors propose such type vehicle named EVD, and R&D of prototypes and their evaluation show its feasibility and effectiveness.
