On steering characteristics of the average driver in the normal operation condition, the behavior of support to the steering wheel greatly influenced in this was analyzed. To begin with, it investigated actual condition on the support form the steering wheel in a general road and a expressway. This result showed that the one-hand support was frequent. Next. the steering force in supporting by various support means was measured on the expressway in the straight running. The steering power was calculated from these result, and on steering wheel support means, the comparison examination was carried out.
