Armored fighting vehicles with Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) designed to counter Improvised Explosive Device (IED) have attracted special interest recently. This paper describes dynamic response of the shock absorption seat to blast load. Mathematical models have been developed to predict the effects of the blast load on the seat-passenger systems. We propose hook-spring mechanism which consists of two springs (hook-spring and cushion spring). Hook spring (hard spring) supports seat and human under normal operations. When they receive the blast force, they tear loose from its spring. After then cushion spring (soft spring) support them. The effect of the hook-spring mechanism seat to blast load is confirmed by numerical simulation and experiments.
