There is concern about the unstable operation of the electrical machinery equipment due to the voltage drop of the distribution for the station and the great increase in cost and labor of the construction for power supply facility reinforcement due to the increase in the power consumption when the automatic platform gates are expanded in the future. In order to grasp these actual situations, we investigated the instantaneous electric power of slide door style automatic platform gate and wire style one during driving and other for the first time in our company. As a result, it was confirmed that the power consumption of both gates was relatively large. Therefore, when many automatic platform gates are installed, it is necessary to take countermeasures against voltage drop, such as review of locking method for the automatic platform gate and installation of the flywheel equipment for power compensation and so on.
