Abstract
In this article, it described the history of the establishment of the Sirakawa hydroelectric power station and the founder. Tramatu Kashiwamura which was a doctor made much efforts for the local industrial development besides work of the treatment of the patient. He built the channel type power station for the resident of the village of Sirakawa in the mountains of about 170 meters in height in 1923. The existence of the power station is forgotten now, but keeps some traces in a mountain. The electricity of the power station was used to turn on a light mainly. maintenance became simple and was connected in increasing the output again by transferring a power station in the foot of the mountain of about 50 meters in height in 1933. It continued supporting cultural life of the people of the village during 39 years.
