Abstract
In this report, cast iron columns for railway foot bridges remain in Kyushu District and their significance on the history of technology will be explained. Contents of this report are as follows. 1) A short history of the cast iron columns for railway foot bridges. 2) Design regulations for railway foot bridges with cast iron columns prescribed by the Railway Agency of Japan (R.A.J.) in the Meiji period. 3) Results of field survey on the cast iron columns for railway foot bridges remain in Kyushu disctrict and significance on the history of technology.
