In the blood pressure measurement, there are generally two methods. One is the auscultatory method which is widely used as a standard blood pressure measurement method. The other is the automatic sphygmomanometer. It is known that, there is some discrepancies in the measuring results of both methods. In the automatic sphygmomanometer, the measuring blood pressure is determined on the basis of oscillometric signals which, mean the pressure of changes in the air pressure in a cuff. However, the relation between the blood pressure and the oscillometric signals has not been revealed exactly. In this research, a mathematical oscillation model of two degrees of freedom was developed to evaluate the relation from the viewpoint of mechanics. Parameters in the model were estimated by optimization analysis. As a result, the model, in which these estimated parameters were used, simulated measurements of the automatic sphygmomanometer approxmately.
