Abstract
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to reveal the feature of stage fright experienced by music performers. The questionnaire survey of 102 university students (33 males, 69 females) majoring music was conducted. Exploratory factor analysis extracted four primary factors: (1) perception of the own situation, (2) change in cognitive function and emotional state, (3) change in physical sensations and motor control, and (4) confusion of the music performance movements and vicious circles. An analytical model with four factors as latent variables was constructed, and covariance structure analysis was performed. The results indicated the validity of the mechanistic model of stage fright, consisting of four latent variables.
