In this study, we immunohistochemically demonstrated that expression of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) protein in ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma cells was affected by the presence of concomitant pelvic endometriosis and reduced the positive rate of peritoneal cytology in patients with ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma. The prognosis of them with highly expressed PAI-1 tended to be better than that of those with lowly expressed one. Theses data suggest that the expression of the PAI-1 have some influence on progression of the ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma.
