Abstract
Blood specific gravity, serum protein and serum tryptophan content were low in inhabitants of mountainous areas than in those of farming-and fishing-areas, but serum protein fractions did not show any regional differences among inhabitants of these three areas.
It was interesting that serum tryptophan concentration presented a positive correlation with that of serum gamma globulin and a negative correlation with that of serum albumin significantly. The data obtained in the present study were in acord with the results of rat experiment reported by Koyanagi and Ishiguro.
