The increasing number of people with dementia and the successes of the development of long–awaited disease–modifying treatment for Alzheimer Disease (AD) require a boost in clinical research or trials for the preclinical stage of AD. One concern in research is proper AD staging and subject recruitment. A trial–ready cohort (TRC) is one solution for these obstacles. The Japanese Trial–Ready Cohort for preclinical and prodromal AD (J–TRC) has been conducted since 2019. It has yielded many findings on Japanese preclinical AD, supporting many participants in clinical trials. This article outlines a preclinical stage of AD and the Japanese trial–ready cohort (J–TRC).
