Ellagitannin Dimers from the Pericarps of Trapa japonica

Two dimeric ellagitannins were isolated from the pericarps of Trapa japonica along with four hydrolyzable tannins and gallic acid. The structures of these tannins were elucidated based on spectroscopic analyses by NMR and MS. The isolated compounds were evaluated for the inhibition of α-glucosidase.
