Abstract
Copper is a useful material to show the high electric conductivity, the high heat conductivity and, antibacterial and virus inactivating effects. A blue diode laser with a wavelength of 450 nm is one of the suitable lasers for copper processing. High intensity blue diode lasers and a precision laser materials processing technology for copper using the laser were developed. A blue diode laser with the power of 200 W was applied to the laser selective laser melting of additive manufacturing. Copper coating on stainless steel was achieved by the laser metal deposition method of additive manufacturing using the high intensity blue diode lasers.
