Abstract
We isolated general transcription factor TAF10 from Flaveria trinervia and Arabidopsis thaliana. TAFs are component of TFIID and have been thought to be necessary for all transcription mediated by TFIID, but recent studies revealed that some TAFs are involved in specific transcription or tissue development. Previously we showed that plant TAF10 was localized in vascular bundle and ectopic expression of TAF10 caused Arabidopsis various morphological changes. Now we investigated more detailed expression pattern of Arabidopsis TAF10 by analyzing its promoter activities. GUS reporter assay showed that the promoter activity of TAF10 were observed transiently during differentiational and developmental processes in lateral roots, rosette leaves, flower buds, petals, stamens, pistils, ovules, and seeds. These results indicate that plant TAF10 is involved in transcription specific to certain developmental stages in these tissues. Additionally we will report TAF10 expression pattern by in situ hybridization and phenotypes of T-DNA tag lines of TAF10.
