Abstract
We have been offering public access to the genomic information on
Synechocystis PCC 6803 in CyanoBase
(www.kazusa.or.jp/cyanobase). CyanoBase now contains information on
additional three species. Two of them are cyanobacteria, Anabaena
(Nostoc)
PCC 7120 and Thermosynechococcus elongatus BP-1
that are nucleated by us, and a Chlorobia, Chlorobium tepidum
TLS nucleated in TIGR. Another web database, RhizoBase
(www.kazusa.or.jp/rhizobase) provides information of two rhizobia,
nitrogen fixing symbionts of the leguminous plants. We have
determined the complete genome sequence of Mesorhizobium loti
MAFF303099. The genome sequencing of its symbiotic partner Lotus
japonicus
is our ongoing project. The genomic information of
Bradyrhizobium japonicum, the symbiont of soybean has been
added. We will report the recent enhancements on services and
interfaces. Offering more simple and efficient access will encourage
the use of these bacterial genomic information by researchers.
