Abstract
We are aiming to give multi stress tolerance, especially to trees.
In this study, we picked out salt stress response genes by the subtraction method. We also analyzed the clones screened from cDNA library derived from salt treatment. As a result, we isolated three cDNA clones whose expression was specific to salt treatment and was detected in high frequency. By the BLAST search, one of the three cDNA clones was encoding a dehydrin protein and the other two were encoding salt stress response genes whose function were unknown. To analyze of the expressions of these genes, the promoter regions of these genes were sequenced, fused to a reporter such as GUS and GFP. We introduced them into Eucalyptus .
In this report, we show the difference of these gene expressions under salt stress.
