The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of running, which is a self-selected learning activity for students, on “attitudes”, which is used in social psychology, in a junior high school. As a result of analyzing the data obtained before and after the six-times running Learning, the attitudes of the students as a whole and of the students who disliked running generally improved. These results indicate that the running Learning was effective in removing the aversion to running and fostering a positive attitude toward running. This suggests the possibility that students can choose from a variety of ways to enjoy running and learn through self-determination. However, this study was conducted only for the second year of junior high school, and it is necessary to continue the practice from elementary school to high school.
