The other day there was a violent incident in the school athletic club. In regards to this, there had been a renewal of interest in the educational theory specific to school athletic clubs. Little attention had been given to this theory prior to today. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to consider the theory surrounding school athletic clubs by Toshio Nakamura and to clarify its contemporary meanings and problems.
The results w ere as follows:
1) The theory implies that school athletic clubs should function like the learning in Physical Education classes. To put it more precisely, the theory asked for school athletic club s to: (1)study the scientific practice of physical activity, and (2) disclose and teach the results of the s e studies.
2) In contemporary terms, the theory is practiced by: (1) integrating school athletic clubs into the curriculum because of their educational effect as the evolution of Physical Education, and (2)overcoming the problems of unscientific practice, feudalistic management, and alienation i n school athletic clubs through the two activities described above 1).
3) The theory has the problem of lacking specific guidance methods for self-management within the context of school athletic clubs.
