The areas of older rocks in Japan are complicated, and its complexity occasionally, appears to be a stable landmass in geological structure due to influencing of folding and metamorphism several times. Consequently, geological surveys of older rocks applying geological photo-interpretation methods are said to have difficult problems. However, geological surveys for forestry and civil engineering in Japan should be performed on the areas of older rocks.
In studies of geological interpretation with aerial photographs on some areas of older rocks, I obtained considerable fine results on the difference of lithofacies, such as faults, joints and fractures.
I described in this paper a process of study and method of geological survey.
I confirm that geological surveys of older rocks in Japan can be obtained with good accuracy of the results and done efficiently by means of utilizing aerial photographs.
