Abstract
Boehmite treatment and the electrodeposition of siliceous film on boehmite film were investigated in order to make direct image aluminum lithographic plates. Boehmite treatment was carried out in water at temperature of above 95°C. Siliceous films were electrodeposited in sodium silicate solution (SiO2/Na2O molar ratio: 3.1). The transfer of oleophilic imaging material to boehmite films and ink receptivity of the electrodeposited surface were examined. The transfer of the imaging material was improved by boehmite treatment. The electrodeposition made boehmite film hydrophilic in short time.
