Abstract
The web offset printing has increased recently because of the fast printing speed, simulataneous printing on both-sides and work saving in later procedure. The fluting is the one of the problems in web offset printing. We studied factors affecting on the fluting of the coated paper, and to control the rate of shrinkage and compressive force. We finally succeeded in reducing fluting. We also found that the fluting occurred at the beginning of the drying process and possessed the shape at the end of the drying process based on obsevation of commercial scale of web offset printing press.
