Adopted steel parapets for the purposes of reducing the weight of bridges and simplifying construction work, however there are few documents that summarize the damage classification and damage analysis of steel parapets. This paper reports the structural history and damage cases of existing steel parapets. Moreover, this paper describes findings on the tendency of internal damage to steel parapets by differences in bridge linear, wheel guard structure, and attachment method of ancillary structures.
