This study was aimed at designing a car interior, making appropriate use of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) technology. The types of information used whilst using a vehicle were analyzed using 'Quantification III'. This revealed Head Up Display (HUD) is important about that has a special quality as a Man-Machine-interface. As a consequence, instantaneously 'read' information (direction arrows, etc.), should use HUD, whereas simple information essential to driving should be positioned on the central panel. More complex essential information should be placed on the instrument panel, and other complex information arranged on the central console. A simulation model was made to assess the new layout proposed.
