Abstract
This study examined the effect of physiological measurements of users, especially the elderly, with regard to the design of the chair. Based on the mesurements of center-of-gravity distortion when standing up and sitting down, the design of the chair is created with consideration to the relation of the height. Furtemore, hip breadth, buttock-popliteal length, elbow height and so on in sitting position are measured to decide the size and the form. A prototype is made based on the results to explore the subject in detail. In conclusion, based upon these experiment, various tendencies are recognised. The data should help more informed decisions to made with regard to overall measurement, the size of the parts, and the form relating to design of the chair.
