Abstract

The 1st time of Tokyo Motor Show(TMS) was opened on April 20, 1954 at Tokyo Hibiya Park. TMS is taking the lead in the world as exhibition steadfast as the automobile show through many trials. In this research, the design point of the "Gate" which occupies a position important as a exhibition site design is taken up. (1)The gate design as a service facility,(2)The physical conditions in the exhibition, (3)The conditions by the number of visitors, (4)The symbolic value and sign function in the exhibition,(5)The main functions of the TMS gate.
