A Pictogram System LoCoS

Abstract

LoCoS is the abbreviation of Lovers Communication System, the pictogram system developed by Yukio Ota. Words are formed by combining 19 picture elements which consist of simple geometric forms. Sentences are formed in the same order as in English. LoCoS is the system for both reading and writing, and it makes possible the concurrence of form, pronunciation and meaning. It is possible to mutually interchange these three. We could make sure the capability of overcoming the language barrier through LoCoS.
