Abstract
This study was preceded with the research subject: twentythreepieces of Atayal textiles collected by former TaichungCultural Center. The outcome of the study discovered that mostof Atayal textiles were rhombus patterns, which were alsoranked in lateral order. In the structures of textiles, there werethirty-five kinds of different rhombus patterns. Furthermore,Rhombus was the symbol of the eyes of ancestors’ spirit inAtayal tribe rather than simply being completed as a decoration. If this sort of study could accumulate its fi ndings, the standardto the attribution of Taiwanese Indigenes would not onlydepend on language but some other diff erent referral value.
