Abstract
The present study researches the correlation between expression of motion in animated movies and the impression of them. First, experts in astronomy rated the impressions of various stars using semantic differential scales. Then, we created an animated movie which compares the sizes of the stars, trying to hold the impressions of the stars by the experts. Fourteen participants were presented the movie and rated the impression of each star that appeared in the movie. Results of factor analysis showed that sounds altered the scores in activity, familiarity and potency factors, significantly. The results of the correlation analysis showed that the impressions of the participants exaggerated the impressions of the experts.
