Host: Japanese Society for the Science of Design
The study is using the building of historical information as foundation to conduct survey and research into Taiwan’s tatami industry and culture. It also uses the field research technique of folklore and the cross-verification of related literature as the main research method. The purpose for this is to build historical data on the development of tatami industry, as well as to understand how foreign culture develops in Taiwan, providing reference for future design localization.
