Abstract
In Taiwan, invasion of patients’ privacy are often reported. This study chose two hospitals: Chang Gung Medical Foundation and Mackay Memorial Hospital as the research subjects. It is found that there would be two or three patients waiting in the treatment room in the division of obstetrics & gynecology. Patients have a preference of choosing seats where they could check the appointment number on the monitor outside the treatment rooms. The utilization rate of mailboxes outside the treatment rooms is related to the healthcare quality. Questionnaires showed that patients would rather spend more time waiting than being deprived of their privacy and respect. The regulation of the mailboxes should be implemented. Patients are willing to wait longer for solo practices.
