The proposal of the Habilitation Chair.

Abstract

Habilitation Chair is not a rehabilitation tool but a chair that facilitates habilitation. In this paper, habilitation refers to handicapped person’s proactive and positive behavior towards their future.As a habilitation chair is furniture, it does not instill the sense of handicapped-ness in the user. The effectiveness test suggested its potential to have a positive effect on the user’s body image. The result migth provide us with a starting point from where the existing concept of rehabilitation may change. A further study with a focus  on its practical application is now desirable.
