The user interface enable us to get ambient information with somatosensory

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose new interface substituted for visual sensation to visually impaired people by using somatic sensation and to make sure that weather the interface can change sense modality or not. Therefore I make many prototypes give tactile feeling(somatic sensation) and consider the interface. As a result, I propose Future body surface(FB-surface). This device change distance to tactile feeling. Vibration of FB-surface was found that it have effect of feeling distance by experiment.
