The Local Materials Utilization and Producing and Circulation of Mud Cuckoo

Based on the Field Research Focused in the Yangqi Village of Xun County, Henan Province, China

Abstract

This paper analyzes the utilization of local materials and producing and circulation of Mud Cuckoo in Yangqi Village. The chief findings are: (1) The Mud Cuckoo is an important regional currency in the circulation in and outside Yangqi Village. (2) The Mud Cuckoo is a good demonstration as Whole Usage of local resource. As a result of the close relationship of Mud Cuckoo with local living culture, it is clear that Mud Cuckoo shows the face and spiritual feature of Yangqi Village, which is absolutely essential for Endogeneous Development of the village in future.
