Abstract
Klaten is one of regency in Central Java, Indonesia, where rice cultivation has been practiced since the kingdom era. This regency is also ranked as tenth largest rice producer in Central Java with 350.395 tons of rice per year. However, presently, rice straw as one of the output from rice cultivation activity is considered as waste material which mostly being burned by farmers with 62%. On the other hand, the Small Medium Enterprise (SME) in this area mostly producing woods into commodity products. Through lamination method this research is aimed to utilize rice straw as waste material into something that can bring economical and functional value to the community by empowering local community especially SME craftmen and rice farm workers.
