Abstract
We performed a survey regarding awareness in daily life among healthy elderly people as a basic study for designing services to improve elderly quality of life. Digitally literate men living alone were classified as extreme service users; participants were 798 such elderly men aged between 60 and 74 years living in Tokyo or in one of the seven prefectures located on the island of Kyushu. The survey was carried out by means of web questionnaires regarding the participants’ enjoyment, worries, and purpose in daily life, and specific day-to-day activities relating to them, while taking regional differences into consideration. The data were used to examine and extract various elements from elderly’s everyday consciousness.
