Abstract

This study advocates the effectiveness of using algorithmic design in making urushi art, the traditional craft in Japan. As information technology develops rapidly these days, the study cast a spotlight on making urushi art in virtual reality space using algorithmic design, which is used as a way of digital fabrication.
