Visual Measures against Wrong Way Driving on Entrance of Parking Area

Abstract

The reverse running on highway is a social problem. The sign boards and the road markings are mainly used as the countermeasure elements. However, it has not been clarified what is effective. Therefore, we examined which measures are effective, focused on the entrance of the SA/PA as a place where it occurred frequently. We evaluated the samples that were composed the road surface pavement and the number or the color of signboards with driving simulator. As a result, we concluded that arranging the plurality of signboards and the wider red road area is the most effective.
