Design of the Cultural Tourism in the Minority Region of China

Exampled by the folk villages in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, China

Abstract

The self-governance villages for the cultural tourism have recently been an upsurge around Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. According to fact-finding, these villages are characterized by: 1) non-governmental exchanges between villagers enhance the community cohesion; 2) self-governance is beneficial to the discovery and utilization of the local resources; 3) thorough understanding of the traditional cultures could exploit local advantages; 4) ‘zero distance’ from villagers make tourists nurtured by the multicultural environment.
