Initiatives of Local Revitalization at SORANOEKI “SOL-LA-LA" in Omitama City

Abstract

Ibaraki Airport opened in Omitama City in 2010 and there are more than 1.5 million visitors a year, but there are lack of facilities such as meals and souvenir sales around. So, Omitama City planed a cultural center of local "agriculture" and "food" in Omitama City, and reached the construction of the SORANOEKI "SOL-LA-LA" as a place to deliver the charm of the area.

This report shows some local workshops with about 1000 people and about 100 people for 2 years, and some works to foster Civic Pride through rediscovery activities for community and local regeneration.
