Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new process for graphic design that designers can make the paper itself from scratch. For this approach, we developed a digital fabrication machine which can print papers like 3D printers. A position-controlled dispenser outputs gel made by papers, and forms a paper according to digitally designed data. By using this machine, the process of making papers and the process for designing its appearance and functions can be overlapped. Designers can determine not only the appearance but also the texture and shape of the paper. This time, we created several output examples and discussed the potential design processes for graphic design using this method.
